New Tilburg production line for offset plates will be operational early 2012

Tilburg, 30 September 2010 – Due to recovery of the market and the demand for environmentally friendly plates, FUJIFILM Corporation Tokyo, has decided to complete the construction of a new line for offset plates at its European plate manufacturing plant in Tilburg, the Netherlands. When this new line is operational, Tilburg will be the largest FUJIFILM offset plates production facility in the world. Here, all current and new types of offset plates for the European market will be produced.
The building of the new production line for offset plates began in 2008, but the installation of the machines was put on hold in 2009 because of the economic crisis. The new line is expected to be operational at the beginning of 2012. A total investment of approximately 100 million euro is involved.

Growth markets
Looking towards the future, this investment will allow FUJIFILM not only to meet the growing demand for CTP plates in Europe, but will also significantly contribute to reducing environmental impacts by expanding the local production of environmentally friendly plate products. Furthermore, FUJIFILM will also be able to expand its supply to the high growth markets in regions such as the Middle East as well as to Europe in order to further increase its market share in the CTP plates market.
